We contribute to the social and economic development of our host countries and communities. We protect the safety and health of our workforce. We respect Human Rights. And we manage our impact on the natural environment, both today and with future generations in mind.

This vision is underpinned by the knowledge that sustainability aspects are interconnected, relying on and feeding into each other. Using this knowledge, we have developed a Holistic and integrated approach to sustainability management.

The approach is based on science, links to the objectives of the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and seeks to deliver outcomes which are achievable, demonstrable, and align with global sustainability priorities.

Our sustainability strategy is our overall business plan.

Our approach to holistic and integrated sustainability management sets out the steps we take to deliver against the strategy, and commits us to support the socio-economic development of our host countries and communities.

Although our sustainability approach is holistic and integrated, it is broadly built on four interdependent pillars:
Creating economic benefits

We are guests of the local communities and host countries in which we operate. To maintain a social license to operate, it is critical that we share the benefits of their resources with our in-country partners.

Protecting health & safety

We must work hard every day to keep our people and the communities around our operations safe and healthy with robust safety management.

Respecting human rights
  • We acknowledge our responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute to realizing human rights for people around the world and in the diverse communities in which we operate.
Managing our environmental impacts

We have a responsibility to avoid, manage, mitigate and rehabilitate negative environmental impact from our business to the lowest practical levels. We will strive to protect the planet for future generations wherever we can.

Our Seven Sustainability Principles

We also have seven sustainability principles that translate our goals and strategy into practicable on the ground steps all NA Global employees and contractors can take to deliver our vision.
